Two-Way Bus Communication

Bi-directional UART protocol with baud rates up to 1 Mbps, supporting fast control commands and feedback data such as position and other operating status.

Complete Protection & Smart Power Limiting

Built-in safeguards for temperature, voltage, stall, power, and current, with automatic power limiting to keep operation within a safe range.

Advanced Modes & Stop Behaviors

  • Single-Turn: ±180° range for standard rotary joints
  • Multi-Turn: ±368,640° (1,024turns) range, with multi-turn count saved after power-off
  • Damping Mode: controlled resistance for smooth, compliant motion
  • 3 Stop Modes: Free, Lock, and Damp for different holding/release needs

Rich Motion Commands & Profiles

Configure speed, time, and power per application, with sync/async command options and built-in trapezoidal accel/decel profiles for smooth motion and customizable ramp intervals.

Custom Home Position

A 12-bit magnetic absolute encoder supports absolute position sensing and a configurable home position. The effective position resolution is 2,048 counts / 360° (0.176° per count), helping simplify assembly and reduce software offset adjustments.

Unified Ecosystem & Daisy-Chain Ready

All servos share the same protocol for high compatibility, allowing different models to be daisy-chained on the same bus. Within each series, the housing and mounting hole patterns are standardized for easy swaps and consistent mechanical integration.

Frequently Asked Questions About HA8-U25H-M UART Servo

These FAQs explain how the HA8-U25H-M fits robotics, automation, education, and engineering projects, with details on protocol, power, torque, speed, documentation, and integration resources.

What power supply should I use with the HA8-U25H-M?

Use a regulated external power supply within the 9.0–12.6V operating range. Performance specifications are measured at 12V, where peak current can reach 3A. Size the supply for startup, load and the number of servos that may move at the same time. Do not power the servo from a microcontroller I/O pin or logic-power output; follow the wiring guide for power and signal connections.

What single-turn and multi-turn position ranges does it support?

The HA8-U25H-M supports ±180° single-turn position control and ±368,640° (±1,024 turns) multi-turn position control. Both are commanded position-control modes with position readback. The multi-turn range should not be interpreted as unrestricted continuous rotation; configure appropriate software limits and ensure the mechanical system can safely accommodate the commanded movement.

When should I choose this UART bus servo instead of a PWM servo?

Choose the HA8-U25H-M when the controller needs UART/TTL half-duplex communication, ID-based addressing, command-and-response control, or position and status feedback. A PWM servo is generally more suitable when the application only needs a simple pulse-command interface. Confirm that the controller, wiring and software support the Fashion Star UART protocol before ordering.

Can multiple HA8-U25H-M servos operate on the same UART bus?

Yes. Each servo can be assigned a unique ID within the 0–254 address range, allowing multiple servos to share the UART bus through supported daisy-chain or parallel wiring. Only one device should transmit at a time on the half-duplex bus, and the power system must be sized for the combined load of all servos that may operate simultaneously. The ID range is an addressing range, not a guarantee that every installation can operate 255 servos at once.

Where can I find the datasheet, CAD files, protocol, software and SDKs?

Use the Downloads and Development Resources section on this product page for the current datasheet, CAD files, UART protocol, debugging software and SDK links. The HA8-U25H-M technical documentation on Fashion Star Wiki also provides specifications, dimensions, wiring, control commands and supported development environments. Always use the resource linked from the current product page to avoid outdated files.

Engineering note: Always confirm power input, wiring, mechanical load, and software limits before testing the HA8-U25H-M in a finished robot or automation system.
